Had an outstanding season for the successful reserve side and was also the Manager’s choice as his Player of the Year. Ian is now first choice for the club. Ian has had an excellent season so far and is improving all the time.

Arwel Hughes ARWEL HUGHES
A really fine shot stopper and a good commander of his area, Arwel has a very strong pair of hands. Arwel shares the goalkeeping duties with Ianto.
OWAIN ROBERTS
Joined the club from Bala Town half way through season 2006-07 and settled down quickly to play left back or left midfield. Strong in the tackle and an excellent passer of the ball and is looking forward to his first full season at Dyrny. Half way through the season and Owain is playing very well.

Kevin Jones KEVIN JONES
Another player who has moved across the vale from Denbigh Town. A really strong and fast full back who will be a great asset to the squad. A prize winner in local golf comps and with pies and pasties in his shop.
LEE MASON
A January transfer window signing from near rivals Denbigh Town, Lee made his full first team debut at Gresford Athletic. Naturally left footed, Lee will bring added balance to the defensive unit and is capable of playing at Left back or Centre Half. Lee has a good technical understanding of the game, very comfortable on the ball and adds some much needed height to the back line.

Adam lloyd ADAM LLOYD
In his fourth season with Llandyrnog in the Cymru-Alliance, plagued with niggling injuries in the last two seasons, but hopefully fit for 2007-08. Strong uncompromising and vocal defender who gives 100% in every game.
RHYS JONES
“Pandy” has joined the club in the close season from Ruthin Town. A very experienced defender who can play right back or at the heart of the defence. Quick and a consistent player who is looking forward to the challenge of playing for a new club. Rhys has settled in really well and is a very popular member of the squad.

Dylan Williams DYLAN WILLIAMS
Dylan has played more games than anyone for the club in the Cymru-Alliance. Very experienced and is someone who can play anywhere across the back four. Although the oldest squad member, he is about the fittest member of the club, one who looks after himself very well.
SAM CROMPTON
Joined the club late last season from Rhyl. A young strong centre back who spent a few years at Shrewsbury Academy and will be pushing strongly for a place in the starting line up.
WILL KIRKBY
A tall dependable centre back with good ability, composure on the ball and strength in the air. Hopeful of being available more often this season as in the past he had to work often on Saturdays.
DYFAN LLOYD
Has rejoined the club from Ruthin Town and was a member of the Llandyrnog team which won promotion from the Welsh Alliance. Plays at right back or sweeper and reads the game very well. Dyfan has done really well this season and is proving to be a good strong defender.

Anthony Marshall ANTHONY MARSHALL
In his fourth season with the club, a skilful player who is full of running, a workaholic on the soccer field and last season’s Player of the Year. Gets about ten goals a season from midfield with his late runs into the box, he also runs half and full marathons for “enjoyment”. Anthony also plays at full back , a very versatile player.
DANNY ROBERTS
A left footed wide midfielder who can be depended on to give 100% week in week out. An excellent crosser of the ball who nabs important goals from the edge of the box who missed most of the latter half of the season with injury. Danny is much stronger and wiser this season and is a dangerous attacker.

NEAL HUGHES
A player who can play across midfield or up front. Strong and very difficult to knock off the ball, scores goals and creates many more for his team-mates with his mazy runs and pull backs from the bye-lines. Very difficult to push off the ball.
SIMON BROWN
A very quick, tricky wide player who has not had the best of luck with injuries in the last two seasons. When fit, would give any full back problems and puts a good ball into the box.

Another local boy who comes back to his local team. Tom has been signed from Rhydymwyn and is a gifted midfield player who should prove to be a valuable asset to our team.
CHRIS WILLIAMS
A member of the team who won promotion for Llandyrnog from the Welsh Alliance and has returned from Bala Town after spending three years there. An all action midfield player who closes down people quickly, scores goals and leads from the front. Chris is captain this season and is enjoying coming back home.

Ceri James CERI JAMES
Returned to the club after a two year spell at Welshpool Town. Strong, ball playing midfielder who picks his passes carefully and is difficult to knock off the ball. A dead ball specialist around the edge of the box. Ceri really enjoys the challenge that midfield play offers.
CRAIG WILKINSON
An ex Preston North End trainee who has played for a number of League of Wales teams. He is the youngest goal scorer ever in the League of Wales, scoring for Cefn Druids when sixteen years of age. Joins from Welshpool and can also play up front, scoring important goals from deep positions.

Rhys Llwyd RHYS LLWYD
Another local boy, Rhys lives in Prion and has joined us this season after having played for Wrexham on schoolboy forms for the last four years. He has represented his Country at U15 and U16 levels. Rhys has good control in both feet and a good turn of speed, very difficult to mark once he has picked up speed.

In his second season with the club, a player who captained Edinburgh University and played for the Scottish University side. Good touch and strong on the ball and also sees a good pass. An excellent cricketer who has played for Wales at every schoolboy level.

Tom Sharples TOM SHARPLES
The 6ft plus 'Egg man' can play in a variety of positions and has featured for the first team this season on a number of occasions. A hard worker who gets his fair share of the goals with his well timed, drving runs through the middle of the park. A much valued member of the team at 'Dyrny' who will become a first team regular no doubt in the seasons to come.

Came into the team in the second half of season 2006-07 and scored some important goals. He works extremely hard up front and has a good eye for goal. Very fit and quick.

Mark Roberts MARK ROBERTS
Top scorer for the club last season in what was his debut season. Very quick and scores simple tap ins and outstanding goals from well outside the box. Works hard up front and is the first line of defence.

Back in Llandyrnog United colours after quite a few years away. Neil can name Tranmere Rovers, Holywell, Bangor City, Bala Town and many others amongst the teams he played for. Part of a famous footballing family from the village. Welcome Home, Croeso Adre Neil.

JOHN JAMES - Joint Manager
John is in his sixth year as manager having taken the club from the Clwyd League and then the Welsh Alliance into the Cymru-Alliance. Previously played as goalkeeper for Aberystwyth Town, Llanidloes Town and Penrhyncoch in the Mid Wales League before the advent of the pyramid system. Also a member of the Management Committee.

Roger Beech ROGER BEECH - Joint Manager
Former club captain who has moved up from assistant to joint manager this season. Very experienced on the playing side having played Cymru Alliance from the mid nineties and was in his younger days a Wrexham Schoolboy and on Chester’s books as a youth player. Roger is still a very active squad member and plays regularly.
ANDREW LEWIS
A young man who is going through his coaching badges. He organises most of the training sessions and prepares the players before the game. Demands the very best in all he does and his professionalism is second to none. A good motivator who is developing his knowledge of the game all the time and is well respected in the game at an early age. Andrew works very hard for the club and is also merchandise manager.

WINNIE WILSON
Catering and fund raiser. Mrs Wilson is first at the ground to prepare a welcoming cup of tea for match officials and will also serve a full menu from her match day kitchen. She has a valuable team of helpers at hand to support her.
